May The TomTom Sat Nav Force Be With You

TomTom Sat Nav is generally praised for its obvious and more practical features like fast and accurate directions with constantly updated maps, but sometimes the biggest word buzzing around about TomTom sat nav isn’t about the directions being given, but the voices giving them. Recently this was just the case when TomTom released Stars Wars voices for TomTom devices.

Now TomTom users can receive directions around this corner of the universe from some of their favorite characters from out in the farthest corners of the universe, like Han Solo, Yoda, C-3PO, and of course Darth Vader. And as with TomTom character voices of the past, these new entries aren’t just voices but complete characters, giving directions in the style you might imagine those characters would.

For example, Darth Vader follows his instructions to turn around with a disparaging, “I find your lack of faith disturbing.” C3PO finishes certain directions with a nervous, “But do please be careful.” And Yoda tells you when you’ve arrived by saying, “Your destination you have reached.” The Star Wars cast joins TomTom favorites like Homer Simpson (“Doh!”) and Monty Python’s John Cleese (“And now for something completely different”) in bringing life and personality to what was formerly considered a dull and strictly utilitarian convenience.

Certainly the features that make TomTom Sat Nav still the most popular on-board personal satellite navigation system available are things like live weather, speed camera spotters, real-time traffic reports, on-the-go hotel bookings, entertaining audiobooks for long rides, and recommended points of interest. But how much more fun all those features become, when they are emceed by your favorite characters from stage and screen.
